| Nemasys L contains the beneficial nematode Steinernema kraussei and is used to control the larvae of the black vine weevil Otiorhynchus sulcatus. Nematodes actively seek out weevil larvae in the soil and enter through the insect's natural pathways. Once inside, they release a bacterium that quickly kills the pest. The larva then turns yellow and later red-brown. The nematodes reproduce inside and when the cuticle of the dead insect is severed, a new generation of nematodes disperse in search of new prey. |
